Testimony: I grew up in a Christian home where Jesus was the center. I became a Christian at an early age. When I was young, I went on a mission trip to Russia for a year with my parents. When I was fourteen, we went to Brazil for six months. In 2015, I went to Bangladesh with Teen Missions International. I stepped off the bus for boot camp, and  felt like the Lord was telling me that I would be attending school there.

When the summer was over, I went back home and told my parents about BMW and that I wanted to attend. They didn’t have peace about it at that time. For the next year, we prayed and looked into other schools and God never gave us peace about anything. God spoke to my parents and told them I was supposed to attend BMW, two months before BMW was to start. I am so excited to be here and about all that I am learning.

Prayer request:

– Growth in my walk with the Lord.

– I would make the most of my time here.

– Homesickness.

Testimony: I was saved at the age of four or five. My parents and I were watching television in the basement, when I started to ask them questions about God, who His Son was, why He came to earth, and why He would die for us, and all about God and Jesus. My father explained how and why Jesus died and gave Himself for me, and how I could ask Jesus to be my Savior. I accepted Jesus as my personal savior.

Although I was young, and at the time did not know what it meant to have relationship with God, at fourteen He showed me Himself through His Holy Spirit. I’ve longed for a deeper and more meaningful relationship with him ever since. Although the road has been riddled with pitfalls and potholes, I feel that I have a new solid foundation with Christ and as well as strong relationship.

Testimony: I grew up attending church with my Christian family, but I never felt like I really understood what they were talking about in the service or in Sunday school. I knew God was real, that I loved Him, and that I didn’t want to die and spend an eternity in hell. So at a very young age I accepted Christ as my Savior, but I didn’t really understand what that meant.

When I was 13, I went on a two week mission trip to Alabama, and I grew incredibly close to the Lord like I never had before. At the end of the trip I rededicated my life to Jesus, and the Lord began working in my heart regarding missions. In the summer of 2011, I went to Haiti with TMI. It was one of the hardest and most rewarding things I’ve ever done. God continually broke me and I grew closer and closer to Him. While in Haiti, God called me into full time mission work.

The next four years I continued to go on TMI teams, all the while hearing about BMW. I didn’t listen to the Lord’s calling to attend BMW until the fall of 2014. It’s taken me a while to get here, but now that I am, I’m so happy to be here, and the Lord is already teaching me so much and showing me things in a whole new way. I can’t wait to learn more and continue to grow closer to Him.

Prayer Requests:

– Unsaved family members

– I would be diligent and hard working in my classes

– I would be a light to all those around me

Testimony: “Jesus looked at them and said, ‘With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.'” Matthew 19:26 NIV

“I can do all things in Him who strengthens me.” Philippians 4:13 NIV

These are the verses we look to when we’re facing challenges or just need reminders in everyday life.

In the summer of 2013, before meeting Mary, I went on a trip with Teen Missions International to Panama. I went on this trip with a group of twenty-three teens. Through this experience, God influenced me and stretched my faith. This is how I was introduced to Teen Missions, and I now feel God is calling me to be a part of this ministry.

In the summer of 2015, Mary went on a trip to Haiti with Teen Missions International. Over the summer, Mary was immersed in God’s Word like never before. She learned the valuable lessons of being more faithful and relying on God in every siutation. During her summer, God have Mary a variety of opportunities to bring her out of her comfort sonce. After returning from her trip, Mary and I were certain that God was calling us to join BMW as a married couple.

Prayer Requests:

-Spiritual strength

-Perseverance to dig into God’s Word

-We will follow God’s will for our lives

Testimony: I was twelve years old when I first felt called to missions. Since then, missions has been my passion and main desire in life. I discovered Teen Missions through a random Google search and convinced my parents to let me go on the Guatemala team in 2014. That summer changed my life.

I returned to Teen Missions the next year. I thought it would be my last experience with Teen Missions. During the entire summer, I felt God calling me to attend BMW, but tried to deny it as much as possible. I eventually gave in to God’s plan, and I am now a student at BMW. Although I was hesitant to come at first, I am excited now, and I can’t wait to see what God does through my time here!

Prayer Requests:

– To become so firm in my faith that Jesus would be everything that I need

– A good attitude throughout my entire time here

– A heart to work and bring God glory through the way I serve Him

Jesus Christ saved me from all the heart-wrenching pain I used to feel daily, and ultimately from death. I didn’t care about God, actually I hated Him. I was convinced that I was a worthless nobody and with no real purpose. It was in the during the darkest time of my life that Jesus revealed Himself to me. Religion was the last thing in the world I wanted to hear about. But, as I soon found out, Jesus is not a religion. He wants a relationship with me, and He really genuinely cares.

Since I have had a relationship with God, He has placed a burden on my heart to be a missionary. While walking in the high school courtyard I randomly spoke out loud and said, “I want to be a missionary.” It came out of no where. To me, the term missionary means sharing God’s love and His Word wherever I go.

God is daily teaching His children what He knows we need. Because I desire to know the Bible better, I realized the next step would be attending Bible School. After traveling to Africa in 2014, Mr. Bland spoke to me about BMW, and it has been on my heart since. After two years of procrastinating, I finally came. I know this time is about growing in God and learning always to trust Him in everything.

“As the deer pants for the water brooks,
So my soul pants for You, O God.”

Psalm 42:1 NASB

Prayer requests:

– Die daily to myself to live for Christ

– For my family and friends back home and here

– Stronger in God to resist the devil.

Starting Date: Fall 2015

Home State: Michigan

Testimony: I came to know the Lord as my personal savior in 2005. I became actively involved with youth group and service projects in my area. In high school, I was really challenged to find who I was in Christ. Many people challenged my beliefs, and it was at this time that I had the opportunity to serve with Teen Missions in Malawi (2014). At the end of that summer, I dedicated my life to full time Christian ministry.

The next summer I went to East Asia, and fell in love with the culture! God has really impressed the muslim people on my heart. It has been such a blessing to serve with them.

Fall of 2015 I came to BMW. Things were pretty crazy, but I have grown in the Lord. One of the biggest area of growth for me has been in the area of prayer and prioritizing my personal time with the Lord. I have struggled with making the relationship real in my brain. Praise the Lord, over and over again, He reminds me that He is near and He desires my time and fellowship as much as He desires my service.

My first summer as a student I went Indiana. I was able to share the Gospel, and tell people that God wants them to know Him better. Realizing that we have the very Word of God right in front of us as a communication tool is overwhelming to me sometimes. I am so grateful for all the Lord has done in my life and is continuing to do!

Prayer Requests:

– Wisdom and guidance for my ministry over the next summer.

– Desire to grow while I have this unique opportunity to focus on God all the time.

– I would set aside my own desires for the future and adopt those which are from the Lord.

Testimony: I’ve had a heart for lost people in remote places since I became devoted to Christ. I’ve focused my thoughts on the people who have never heard the name of Jesus. Asking myself, how can they know about His truth and mercy if they never heard?

Romans 1:20 NKJV says, “For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead, so that they are without excuse.”

This verse, and other scriptures and discussions, have prevented me from deep discouragement. However, I feel as Christians, it is a calling from Christ to go share His Word, what He did to save us, and disciple people for His Kingdom.

This year I felt God reveal that my future will not be in the U.S., my life is not meant to be cozy and settled down, having a family here. I have an idea about the location that God will place me in, but I’m waiting for Gods guidance to make His will clear. I’m excited about the year and all I learned. God has allowed me to see so much and I know that God created me to do this work for Him.

On a ride to Thailand, I sat next to two guys who were unbelievers. We started with basic conversation that led to why I was in Cambodia and what I believe. They asked good questions and we discussed a variety of topics. However, at times, I didn’t know what to say. They didn’t agree with my beliefs, but were open to listening and supported their own beliefs. Through this experience I felt God calling me to know His Word more deeply and attend BMW.

Prayer requests:

– Peace

– Ability to accept change

– To fight bitterness
