Serving the Lord in South Africa
The people there have come to mean so much to me and every week I look forward to seeing them again and hearing about how their lives are going.
He is no fool who gives what he cannot keep to gain what he cannot lose. - Jim Elliot

This month has been an interesting time for me. After helping with the Graduation I went to Ambon and began helping with the Boot Camp. It starts in a few days but we have been getting ready for the past couple of weeks. I am eager to see what God does during Boot Camp. The [...]
My time here has been a great time of learning and growing in the Lord. I greatly apperciate your prayers as I am still trying to learn how to teach English and work with my coworkers.
On February 20, it was nearing dusk and I was fanning the fire in the kitchen so I could cook. I heard Pinky call for me and I told her I’d be right there. But she told me to come – now. So I went over to her and realized what the fuss was about. There was a boy on the ground having what looked like a seizure. He came out of it moments after I arrived.
The Mother was deeply moved by her daughter’s boldness and our willingness to visit. We shared the Word of God with the Mother, prayed for her and she gave her life to the Lord. We praise the Lord, as this Mother has become a child of the King. We don’t know what will result from the snakebite, but what we do know is that this lady will spend eternity in heaven with Jesus. It’s by your prayers and support that this ministry is effecting the lives of many.
Having to live a life of caution and constant awareness of her surroundings, she has lost faith and hope in families and people who wish to help. Today no one knows what tomorrow might bring, not even Lucy herself. Let us join hands in prayer as we surrender this child into the Lord’s hand of protection.
The most amazing part of this trip occurred when I was in Kasumbu in the Dedza Mountains. At the end of Sunday School, Louis (one of the MSSM Circuit Riders) gave the message of Salvation and asked me to counsel the girls who came forward to give their lives to Christ. That day, 19 girls committed their lives to Christ and prayed their own prayer to Christ, asking Him into their hearts. Pray for those girls that they will be strong and grow in the Lord.
We were also very busy this month. We had to get information of all the orphans that were registered at our unit. We ended up building a granary because a generous donator, in America, donated the money for us to build a granary. We are not quite finished with it we just need to build the roof for the granary and put a couple more bricks on the building.
After they received Christ as their Savior I told them the many ways in how they should live a godly life. After that, we moved to a different part of the village and I presented the Gospel again. About 30 people prayed to receive Jesus as their Savior. Even though we weren’t able to get any work done at the unit that day the Lord accomplished an even better work in the lives of these people.
