Testimony: At the start of the summer after my freshman year of high school, my mama saw the last 5 minutes of the Teen Missions special on TV. After her and my dad prayed about it for a week she told me that my sister and I would be going the following summer. I had no idea what Teen Missions was about but it didn’t look fun at all. Summer of 2009 I went to Australia and had a amazing time. Boot Camp was hard but I learned so much about God and myself. During devotions that summer, God kept telling me I would be back but I kept saying no. After the summer I definitely wanted to do more missions but I didn’t know with who or how. I kept saying no to Teen Missions; I wanted something easier and that wouldn’t take up all my summer. By the next summer though, I was heading back to go on the Zambia Bridge team. There I fell in love with Africa and knew that I needed to come back. I also felt a very strong call to come to BMW while I was there and this time I said yes. The third summer I went to Haiti with TMI and that was the hardest team I had ever gone on. Through all of it, God showed me so much; I learned that no matter what God is with us and even when we go through hard times He never leaves. I also learned the power of prayer and how much it really affects us all. I know that God brought me here for a reason and whenever it gets really hard, He always shows Himself and I know nothing is impossible with Him.
