Justin & Shannon O’Hara

Justin & Shannon O’Hara both began BMW in the Spring of 2008 (where they met). Justin is originally from Tucson, AZ and Shannon hails from Orangeville, IL.

After completing our schooling in Spring 2010, we got married and moved to Tucson to raise support. We are now back – not only completing our internship, but also joining staff with Teen Missions! We are headed to Malawi for three years and we are very excited for what the Lord will do in us and through us as we serve Him in Malawi.

Our first project will be leading a team of teenagers to Northern Malawi this summer to begin building an AIDS Orphans & Street Children (AOSC) Rescue Unit among the Tumbuka tribe. This unit will help care for up to 500 orphans by pointing them toward a saving relationship with Christ Jesus as well as attending to their physical needs (ie. through agricultural projects, providing school fees and general first aid). After the summer we will begin helping with the many programs and projects running at the TMI base in Central Malawi near Chipoka including:

AOSC Rescue Units: there are currently nine units running in Malawi.

Boot Camp: a missions training camp and opportunity for the national teens to serve nearby villages & communities

BMW: the same type of Bible school that we attended in Florida; there are currently three schools running in Malawi (one each in English, Chichewa and among the Yao tribe).

Gardening and Livestock Projects: to help the base be as self sufficiant as possible

Motorcycle Sunday School Mission (MSSM): circuit riders teach Sunday school and phonics at six different locations each week. There are currently 20 Sunday schools running in Malawi.

Matron Units and Dormatories: provide young ladies a free, safe place to stay while attending school (a luxury that many girls are not afforded); there are currently two Matron Units in Malawi.

Some of our other responsibilities may include: teaching BMW, paperwork & reports, supply runs, and overseeing work training for the BMW students.

We are so thankful to God for bringing us here and allowing us to serve Him through the ministry of Teen Missions!
